Often referred to as a “Juicy Lucy,” stuffed burgers are a special treat that your household might even mistake for delivery or takeout. To stuff a burger, use a quarter of a pound of meat for each patty. Season the meat with salt and pepper. Make an indent in half of the patties with the back of a spoon to hold the fillings. Place the fillings on the indented burger and then top with another patty. Seal the edges by pressing them together around the edges to form a seal.

Cook bacon until crisp, then cool and crumble into small pieces. To stuff your burger, brush the indented patty with barbecue sauce, then top with the bacon crumbles and shredded cheddar cheese. Seal your burger. If you are grilling for cheese-lovers, top with a slice of cheddar before removing from the grill.
Pizza Stuffed Burgers
Brush your indented patty with a layer of pizza sauce. Sprinkle on some dried oregano and top with slices of pepperoni, a few sliced black olives, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Seal your burger well before grilling. Serve on a bun toasted with garlic butter.
